What the Grammar Checker does

The Grammar Checker finds and fixes mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation and word choice. Paste an email, an essay, a cover letter or a social post and get back a clean version, plus a list of exactly what changed. You decide whether you want just the corrected text, the corrections listed as original → corrected, or a short explanation of the rule behind each fix.

It respects your writing. By default it keeps your wording and style and touches only real errors. If you want more, you can ask it to make the text sound more natural or more formal.

How to use it

  1. Paste your text into the input box. English works, and so do many other languages.
  2. Choose what you get:
    • Corrected text + list of changes – the clean version, then every change at a glance.
    • Corrected text + explanations – the same, with a one-line reason for each fix. Best for learning.
    • Corrected text only – just the fixed version, ready to copy.
  3. Pick a style: keep my style (fix errors only), make it sound more natural, or make it more formal.
  4. Press Generate. Copy the corrected text, Regenerate if you want another pass, or Continue in chat to ask about a specific rule.

The corrections and explanations are written in the language of your text.

Tips for better results

  • Check before you send, not after. A quick pass on important emails and applications catches the typos that are hardest to see in your own writing.
  • Use explanations to improve. If the same correction appears again and again, such as its/it's or missing commas, that is the rule worth learning. Ask the chat for a short exercise on it.
  • Choose "keep my style" for personal writing. Your voice matters in essays, stories and messages to friends. The other styles change more than errors.
  • Paste one document at a time. Mixing several texts makes the list of changes harder to follow.
  • Read the result once more. Make sure each change really fits what you meant, especially names, technical terms and deliberate style choices.

Example

Your textCorrected
Me and my colleague has went to the conference last week, it was realy usefull and we learned alot.My colleague and I went to the conference last week. It was really useful, and we learned a lot.

The list of changes then shows each fix, for example:

  • Me and my colleague → My colleague and I (subject pronoun)
  • has went → went (verb form and agreement)
  • realy usefull → really useful (spelling)
  • alot → a lot (always two words)
  • Comma splice → split into two sentences

Limits and honest use

  • It can miss things or overcorrect. The checker is accurate for common errors, but it may occasionally miss a subtle mistake or change something that was correct. You have the final say.
  • Style rules differ. British and American spelling, serial commas and quotation styles vary. If you follow a specific style guide, mention it at the top of your text.
  • Follow your school's rules. Proofreading help is widely accepted, but some assignments forbid AI tools. When in doubt, ask your teacher.
  • Keep private data out. Remove personal details you do not need to check.
Need a bigger change than corrections? The Paraphraser rewrites sentences in a new style, and the Translator moves your text into another language.

FAQ

Is the Grammar Checker free?

Yes. No account or payment is needed. You get a daily allowance of free messages, shared between the chat and all tools, which resets every day.

Which languages can it check?

English and many other languages, including Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Italian. The corrections and explanations are written in the language of your text.

Will it change my writing style?

Not with the default "keep my style" setting, which fixes only real errors. Choose "more natural" or "more formal" if you want the wording improved as well.

Can it check British or American spelling?

Yes. Add a first line such as "Use British spelling" and remove it from the result. Without a note, it keeps the spelling variety your text already uses.

Can I ask why something was changed?

Choose "Corrected text + explanations", or click Continue in chat and ask about any change. You can also ask the chat to explain your most common mistakes.
